During our project, we didn't have much time to edit. We had about less than 4 days to edit a documentary plus getting feedback before the final draft. How did we end up succeeding? We brought it our own laptops and we worked on it during the 7 hours at our internship and worked on it at home. We would check in with one of the staff members named Ryan and he would give us tips and tricks to make it look professional. The thing I would do differently is shooting more B-Rolls because I would have a lot of footages of the persons face instead of their voice over B-Rolls.

Some key notes for future interns is to make sure you are always doing something productive because you do not want your mentor to see you procrastinate and not doing anything at all. Always show up early and check in with your mentors. It is important to be updated at all times so you wont be doing work that is no longer needed. If you are doing graphic design then always show your mentor rough drafts before you save your final product.
My internship hasn't really changed anything about my ideas of college. I still want to major in graphic design and have a job that contains that for a long time of my life. I don't know what college I want to go to yet because there's still a lot of opportunities. I know that I want to stay in San Diego and possibly apply to USD or SDSU.
Recently I just switched internships and today was my first day. I am very thankful from my last internship on many things. 1) I am thankful for them to take the time out of their day and just teach us some lessons on how to work everything. I am also thankful for them letting me intern there and trusting me using their equipments. 2) I am thankful for the flexibility on schedules especially if I have a driving lesson, they will let me out when I need to. 3) Lastly I am thankful for just getting the opportunity to experience the real life work of one of my favorite subject... mutlimedia.
I have seen a lot of people around me that are really focus in everything and they are never late on any deadlines. When I was working on some movie banners it will take me longer than them, I would finish one and then they would be done with 3 already. It's nice to see that they are fast workers and that is what I want to develop in myself. My life in high school is way different time wise than it is here. Here I have to been focus 100% and have to be quick unlike high school where everything is a different pace.
<Presentation Link>The process of my iPol presentation was quite stressful, I still have to complete my movie which I am almost done with. Then I have to fix up my power point but besides that I was great to finally give a overview writing about how my internship went. Since I have been focused on all throughout internship I am not really worried about the questions that I will be asked.
It is very important to communicate with your mentor or boss and to always update your tasks. Every time I finish a project or an assignment I always communicate with my mentor and ask what I should change or what needs some work and it always helps. If you don't communicate then you're not socializing about your work and that can hurt not only your work but your relationship that you have built with your mentor.
Internship has been great so far and I got experience the reality behind the camera. When I look a documentaries I automatically know what to do because I've seen so many. It's been a challenge to know how to make it look professional because all the footage needs to be stable and usable. When I mean stable I mean the camera can't be shaky at all and you need to be using a tripod. We do use tripods to film but then again when we do use them it's hard to record smooth B-Rolls. When we do B-Rolls we intend to zoom in on an object then zoom out smoothly but that doesn't normally turn out well. What I learned about myself is that I have improved a lot since I first started in Multimedia in 10th grade. I used cameras before that class but now in my internship I have learned a lot about editing and how to properly film a B-Rolls. We also use wired mics that we put on people for interviews and we have learned how to accurately sync in the audio and match it up with the camera mic. We use this thing called a board clapper and its to make a clap sound before we begin to film anything, we use that clap affect to match up audio. The only challenge I would say that I am facing right now is to create ideas for this documentary because I usually bounce off other people's ideas but when it comes to professional editing I don't know how to come up with good start but I am looking at more examples right now.
Our work week is very different than our school week. It feels longer since we are only doing a specific job instead of switching classes and moving around. Like on my other blog posts, I have mentioned on what I am working on and normally I just sit at my desk and edit banners and this documentary that my group is working on. We have filmed many B-Rolls and we have filmed two interviews. Internship has really made me question myself "Do I really want to pursue this as my career?" and lately I haven't really made a yes or no answer to that question. From internship I also learn how to do some marketing which is important if you want your business to go somewhere and I feel like I can use that skill in school. My work is meaningful to me because I always thought that Graphic Designing is the best fit for me because I just have fun doing it but the tasks that we are given are a little different than what I do at home.
